    About Beth
Many of you may know me as Beth “the mom” and I am very proud to be that every day to my two children.  My dad and mom raised me and my four siblings on a 2,000 acre farm in Central Indiana where I learned how to work hard, to live within my means, and the importance of maintaining faithful relationships with family, friends and God---principles that I will depend upon if I am chosen to lead in Kenton County.
Jeff, my husband of 20 years, and I have lived in Kenton County for 14 years.    When The Kroger Company brought Jeff to the Greater Cincinnati area, I combined my years of small business and not-for-profit management and become the first woman to serve as the Executive Director of the Covington Business Council (CBC).  Service to the CBC involved business advocacy and building public/private partnerships that helped business, residents and government find common goals and work to achieve them.
Subsequent to serving as Executive Director of the CBC, I volunteered  in leadership roles with 2 neighborhood associations and was honored to receive the “Center for Great Neighborhoods Community Leader Award” in 2003.  For the past 7 years, I also served on the Kenton County Republican Executive Committee and am a member of the Kenton County Republican Women’s Club.  I am also a home educator and serve as a Board of Director for Teaching Homes of Northern Kentucky (THINK) and am a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

My Vision and Goals
If I am chosen to serve, I will work toward the following . . .

Vision
To work with my fellow elected officials to ensure Kenton County offers exemplary government to its citizens, and is looked upon as exceeding expectations in service, leadership, innovation, and financial stewardship by its citizens, the region and beyond.

Goals
  • Maintain a balanced budget and seek innovative ways to generate revenue without raising taxes
  • Cooperatively work with city officials of the various municipalities within Kenton County
  • Promote the creation of good paying jobs
  • Keep our citizens safe by supporting corrections, emergency care, police/ fire protection and safe roadways
  • Preserve and encourage healthy living, recreational and educational opportunities offered through our library, parks, extension service and museums

This is my dad holding me in 1967 (bottom photo).  He had just participated in an Abe Lincoln “look alike” contest.    Below is a favorite Lincoln quote of mine.  Dad would agree with these words as well . . . “Property is the fruit of labor . . . property is desirable . . . is a positive good in the world.  That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise.  Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.”
